The ancient Egyptians regarded this ‘Sacred Blue Lily of the Nile’ as a symbol of spiritual enlightenment, rebirth, and purification. The flowers were steeped in wine to create an intoxicating drink that was consumed during parties, rituals and ceremonies. It was believed to induce visionary experiences, open the mind to spiritual insights, and foster a sense of connection to the divine.

Suggested Use
Don’t use while driving or operating heavy machinery. Use in the comfort of your own home (preferable in the evening) or in ceremonial group setting.
Tea Infusion: Infuse 1 teaspoon of crushed flowers in 1 cup of boiling water. Allow to steep for 5-7 minutes. A longer steep time just makes it taste bitter, while losing the subtle taste and feel it provides.
You can also add 1 whole flower for a large 1L pot of tea.
Or add 1 whole flower to a 1L coffee press. (This is the method I prefer)
The Egyptian Way: Add 15 grams to 750ml of red wine, shake the bottle and let steep for 1-2 weeks. Continue to shake the bottle daily.
Smoking: Just add the leaves to your rolling paper and smoke. But remember, what ever herb you use, smoking is still smoking. I wouldn’t recommend doing this if you have lung issues. You can also opt for the pre-rolls.
Tips from Sylvia:
1) Did you know that you can actually EAT the entire Blue Lotus flower? I eat it sometimes after i’ve used it as a tea infusion. It tastes a bit like artisjoke. There are also some bitter parts, but I don’t care, I like eating the whole thing. 😆 Just letting you know that it is an option. 😊
2) You can create a tincture from it by steeping it in vodka for 6 weeks, shaking it daily. See video for instructions.
Net weight
Each package is weighed by hand and contains 12 grams of crushed flowers. The flowers have been pre-crushed for your convenience, making it easier to measure doses for tea or other uses.

Blue lotus is a psychoactive plant that contains high levels of alkaloids:
- Nuciferine: Nuciferine is an alkaloid found in various parts of the blue lotus plant. It is known for its bitter taste and is thought to have a role in the plant’s psychoactive properties.
- Apomorphine: Apomorphine is another alkaloid present in blue lotus. It is a dopamine agonist, meaning it affects the activity of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is associated with mood, motivation, and reward.
These psychoactive properties are used to treat depression and anxiety disorders, but if you are pregnant or nursing, use medication or have any pre-existing conditions such as heart- and/or kidney problems, then please consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Keep out of reach from children.
Consulting with a healthcare professional before using psychoactive substances is advisable to ensure safety and avoid potential interactions with medications or pre-existing conditions.
